These connected doilies were made in the 1940's, and were meant to hold the cream and sugar bowls. They each are only five inches across.(They are so beautiful!)
This doily is slightly short of 5", and was made to sit her teapot upon.

I asked the woman running the estate sale about these, and she filled me in on the history. They were made by her grandmother, who was born in the 1890's. Such beautiful, meticulous work! I think that if it were my grandmother, they wouldn't leave my household...
They will be treasured in mine.
